Update: Teacher Stephanie Gross Pleads Guilty to Disorderly Conduct Instead of Sexual Abuse
Update: Teacher Stephanie Gross, 25, a former Lakeland High School social studies teacher, was arrested last May for engaging in a sexual tryst with a 16-year-old student. She was originally charged with third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a minor.
As usual when the accused is female, attractive, and young she got off easy. Gross took a plea deal that prohibits her from teaching anywhere for (only!) one year and off the sex offender list.
She also doesn’t have to go to jail but has to pay a $300 fine and serve one year of probation. She also has to turn in her teacher’s certification and can’t teach while she’s on probation.
The reasons why she got off so easily? Reduced charges were based on conversations with the teenage victim and his parents, Gross’s clean record, and letters of support from the community.
The teenager was also only six weeks away from his 17th birthday at the time of the incident. (17 is the age of consent in New York.) The boy also wasn’t one of her students.
Her lawyer said it was a “lapse of judgement.” I think it was that and more - a betrayal of trust parents and kids have for teachers. Let’s just hope that any future employers keep a watchful eye on her and any teenage boys in her presence.

Holy crap… Another repeat offender who won’t get caught because now she knows to be more careful. GREAT. And even if I am a super-vigilant parent, she won’t be on any list for me to put red flags all around her in my head… FABULOUS.

if this was a 25yr old guy hooking up with a 16 yr old girl he would never be able to teach again. he would be on a sexual offender list and deffinitely probation for 5 years guaranteed. im sick of seeing girls get away with everything its repulsive.

Well here’s the deal….women in our society ( or world…or universe) are much more sexualy desired than men are. Women that are physicaly attractive NEVER force themselves on men….because they do not have to….duh!!!….anyone that does not acertain the vast gender differences between male and female sexual impulses need to pull thier heads out of their own asses and learn the difference between a penis….and a vagina…..testosterone….and estrogen….c’mon guys…..go back to school and learn the facts of how men and women function…..and feel…. sexualy.
Men have a crashing sexual desire for women…..from the moment they hit puberty…..women…..unfortounatily…..do NOT feel….or share quite the same hunger for men, so that when a woman is…..on RARE occassion drawn to a man sexualy….despite his “taboo” age ( when its only legal for “girls” his own age to boink him) she isn’t really hurting him. or forcing him. or coercing him. into anything that he hasn’t already fantasized about or desperately wants to do already.
When a young male teen is in the middle of a pulsating, powerhouse, thundering pleasure-fest of a sexual orgasm, blowing the motherload of fresh, abundant semen inside his female teacher, he’s not laying there going “oh my god….I feel so used and abused….I being molested here….I’m being raped….she should go to prison”
Trust me I know….I was a male teen once in that position.

Brian, you need to get some help. There is a double standard and that is a fact. The male victim may not feel like a victim but is too immature to properly handel such an inappropirate relationship. Case in point you and your reaction to this story. This teacher should never be in the class room agian. That kind of breach of position is beyond the pale. If I was the judge I wouldn’t let these women off so easy. This plea deal is a joke.

But you know….you may have a point there Jon-boy….I may indeed need help for what I went through as an early teen….having all my sexual fantasies fulfilled, being taught hands-on style how to please a woman sexualy, expereinceing the orgasmic, intimite pleasures therin, gorgeous women in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s (all married housewives I might add) literlay throwing themselves at me for illicit sexual encounters, wow…..yeah I’m really damaged goods. Listen Jon-boy I really do see the point your making….a female teacher having sex with her male pupil isn’t appropriate or good for the classroom….thats true even if its a 30 year old female professor having sex with her 20 year old college student….and guess what…I agree!!!

In our aggressively male dominated society (dominated by older, crusty-ass males who start wars and send young males off to fight them) we tend to get caught up in our ignorance when dealing with that potent force of mother nature ( IE-we don’t know how!!!….not really anyway).

By the way, what if it were YOUR daughter who was the 21 year old female school teacher and was caught having an illicit affair with a sophisticated, physicaly developed 6 foot lumberjack of a male teen. Would you be in such a rush to throw her to the alligators of our cold calculating legal system and the shark feeding frenzy of our media? You might kick your daughters ass and wire the jaws shut of the horny 13 year old but I’d bet every penny in Vegas that you’d be a little more redicent to end your daughters life and career and reputation on such a trivial-by-comparison slight sexual technicality now wouldn’t you?
