Third Howard County, Maryland Teacher Accused of Sexual Misconduct
What the hell is going on in Howard County, Maryland? This year three teachers have been arrested for sexual shenanigans with minors.
Police say Kirsten Ann Kinley, 27, with having sex on two separate occasions with a 15-year-old boy in her apartment. The boy said Kinley was not his teacher but that he had met her through a friend. The boy also supplied police with evidence that Kinley sent him sexually explicit text messages and photographs of herself. The special education teacher is charged with two counts of third degree sex offense, two counts of fourth degree sex offense, and two counts of solicitation of a minor.
A chemistry and physics teacher at River Hill High School, Alan Beier, 52, was arrested for undressing and photographing a 16-year-old boy at school. He’s also fondled a 17-year-old female student, and sexally abused a third student. Beier is charged with four counts of sexual abuse of minors, three counts of fourth-degree sex offense, and four counts of second-degree assault.
Finally, Joseph Samuel Ellis, 25, a history teacher at Glenelg High School, was arrested for sexual misconduct for sending obscene messages and pictures of himself engaged in sex acts to two female students’ cell phones. He also touched a female student’s crotch and tried to force a female student to touch his. Ewww!
The school district is currently reviewing its hiring and training policies. It currently requires teachers to undergo background checks, training in reporting child abuse, and educating staff about appropriate interaction with students. Instead how about telling teachers: Don’t have sex with your students. Don’t feel them up. Don’t take naked pictures of them or send them naked pictures of you. And if you do - your ass is grass!
Duh.
