Teacher’s Aide April T. Robertson Arrested for Sexual Assault on a 15-Year-Old Boy
In Lakewood, Colorado, teacher’s aide April T. Robertson, 32, was arrested on three charges of felony sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
A 15-year-old male student at Sobesky Academy, a day treatment program for special education students, told his family about the sexual contact. His parents informed the school of the sexual assault that allegedly occurred in December after the boy and Robertson met at a Denver area shopping mall. They left the mall in Robertson’s car and went to a nearby park to make out.
Robertson tells a different story. She said she did see the student at the mall over winter break, but didn’t talk to or leave the mall with him. Robertson says the boy has left her love poems and drawings and seems to be obsessed with her. Robertson’s attorney claims that his client told school officials this, but the school district denies having a record or reports from Robertson about the student’s behavior.
Since the academy teaches students with special emotional needs, I’m wondering if Robertson is telling the truth. Emotionally disturbed kids can become obsessed with things and people. So if she can produce the poems and drawings, she should be cleared. But if not, then I think the boy’s telling the truth (after all he did identify a hidden body piercing she has) and Robertson’s going to be in a world of shit for a long, long time.

Though, not having the evidense does not automatically mean she is lying. I think if it were me I ight have tossed out the love letters and such because of the “ick” factor and not assuming that I might need them later to clear my name of anything.

I know April and can vouch for her character. She is an intelligent, compassionate, and very attractive woman. If she wanted, she would have absolutely no trouble finding someone with similar qualities and of a legal age. It’s obvious to me that the student’s hormones are out of control (he’s a teenager, go figure) and he has chosen an inappropriate way of trying to deal with his nascent desires. Saying that she will “be in a world of shit for a long, long time” is totally uncalled for. My understanding is that in America people are innocent until proven guilty.

Your artical on April is appauling. First of all, I also know April very well and her whereabouts when this “incident” occured. She has/had a my space account that any kid could look up and find out personal info on her. Second, Sobskey is a school for kids that are not allowed into regular public schools because of either emotional disturbances or parol. Third, who are you to judge if she is in a “world of ****”. She was required by the school to keep track of any issues with any kid. That is why she reported these love poems and such. I am disgusted at your lack of intellegance and your publishing style. God forbid some one accuses you of anything and you end up on some radical free-lance writting B.S. getting slanderd. Your artical makes me want to vomit.

Do you folks think I make these stories up? This story was published on the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, and 3 Denver area news station websites. And as I pointed out, if she can produce the letters, April should be fine. I also did point out that the kid is from a school for mentally imbalanced children, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. But she’s been arrested and charged by the Lakewood police department. They wouldn’t have bothered if they didn’t feel there was a case. With her arrest, she already is in a world of shit even if she’s innocent. It will take time, money and a good lawyer to prove her innocence with the school district, her superiors, the Lakewood PD, and the parents of this kid. If you feel she’s been wrongly accused, call the Post, call the police, and call the school. Get active and help her. Complaining on this site won’t help.

I am actively involed. Though I can not say how. What the meaning behind “your aritcal makes me want to vomit” is simple. I, and April, are tired of second rate “publisits” trying to get a story out of another story ( Rocky Mountain News…ect), post it on their web-site and let it go from there.April should not have to “prove her innocence” Its innocent until proven guilty. April will be forced to prove her innocence to the court, the school district, and the Lakewood PD during an investigation and trial. That’s just the way life works. If she’s truly innocent, and has the evidence to back it up, she should be fine and the charges will be dropped.
As far as the content of this blog, and what I write about, if you don’t like it, don’t read it. No one is forcing you.

Justice is never given where it belongs and the innocent are thrown to wolves. All it takes is one accusation to to get your own blog sites. What if (since you seem to like using that)this was you? Would you want some broad commenting on you,good or bad, your face thrown up for every one to see and you didn’t even do anything? I think I asked you that before and you still have no-comment for it. Maybe you would.

I wish I had good news for you Friend concerning April here but I’m afraid her situation looks pretty dark. Beleive me I hate that….because I’m sure April is a great gal….I’d yank her out of this “witch hunt” situation she is in if I was able to, in a heartbeat. I too had a close female friend who suffered the same thing, more on that in a sec, so I know how you feel. I understand your protective instincs.
April’s carreer and life was ruined the day the 15 year old decided to slander her to the authorities, not so much because of what she is being accused of but because of the way the system set up to deal with such things as this. Its big, cold and calculating, with no human factor involved in its final descision making or ryhme or reason. You’d almost think that a giant computer was in charge. Its downright scary….even to me….and beleive me….I don’t scare easily.
Your probably wondering if I think she did what she is accused of. Remember Pamela Rogers Turner? She was the female friend I was talking about. Trust me….I had NO IDEA she was capable of doing what she did. She was the most unlikely candidate for a sex scandal with a 13 year old in every way, shape and form. Boy did I ( and the rest of the world ) ever find out otherwise.
I hate to take the wimpy, ambivalent way out but….I wouldn’t be particularly shocked either way. Remember, we are talking about the almost totaly unpredictable realm of female sexuality here…the best way to tread is to assume nothing and expect anything….and to try to play it cool in the meantime…..I wouldn’t be suprised to learn she had no sexual contact with little boy blue, and he is a victim of his own freaked out, horny, hormone driven infatuation with April. And therefore propogated scandalous lies in a feeble attempt to exert his “manly” control over her to get her attention. It happens. All their seemingly effective boyish charms aside…teenaged boys aren’t known for their ability to engage women or girls in captivating conversation, so they use the best methods they know how to get attention…verbal grandiosity and showing off.
Then again….she may have …..fueled by the right rare situation, circumstance and timing, went against her better judgement and allowed herself to free fall to her romantic and biological urges common to us all ( you know…us humans….don’t you hate when that happens?….makes you wish you had a heart of stone huh?). Our legal system would like that of course. But April doesn’t strike me as one who has a heart of stone….so if she did what she is accused of…so what(thats all to common as well)….so she’s human like the rest of us…certainly not worthy of the punishment being dished out to her.
By the way, its interesting to note that weather she did or did not is really not the issue according to the legal system….she’s still being strung out and punished the same way no matter what. Even if she is “cleared” its not going to matter anymore in the minds of the spectaters as well as legal eagles.Interesting no? The fact that she was even accused in the first place puts her in permanent hot water where everyone and everything is concerned, weather the accusations are true or not. What a travesty.
Our society is so willing to choke on a knat and swallow down a camel in this matter that it makes me ill. Let me give you an example.
Hollywood gets away with unbeleivable child-porn type liberties involving minors engaged in sex acts on film that its just mind-blowing. Not one outcry from the general public when it happens. Seen Brad Pitt and Kate Blanchet’s newest release? Its called Babel….came out a couple months ago…shows a graphic, long, drawn out scene of a 9 year old boy masturbating. Why the hell would anyone want to watch that? Why was it included in the movie? It had absolutely no relavence. And guess what…correct me if I’m wrong….but last I checked, that was astronomicaly illeagle type footage not only to film but to distribute, protected under the ” no sexual solicitation of minors” law. And this wasn’t even a minor this was a CHILD for crying out loud. Not one peep from the general public. And how did Hollywood get legal clearance to….uhm….to break such a potently enforced law? Permission from the parents? A bribe to the local authorities? Both? Countless mainstream Hollywood movies have been made with this content recently….Dakota Fanning….what is she….like 10 years old….is soon to star in a new release where she is graphicaly raped by an adult….amazing. Not one word of outcry from anyone so far. No lets leave Hollywood the hell alone to sexualy ravage our minors because….they are the “big man on campus” and can fight back with devastating violent effectiveness when provoked, not to mention hobnobbing and being in bed with our political power and senate….tell ya’ what….lets pick on the not so wealthy and not so powerful instead to provide a quick, effective, media frenzy, conveinient scapegoat….uhm lets see….hey I got it…..school teachers….specificaly attractive female ones….they get the most reaction out of the male dominated, male induced sexual ignorant of our general public…brilliant….be ready boys…..when a female teacher makes a mistake…lets blow it up into the Cuban missle crises….this will allow entities like Hollywood to get away with totaly sexualy perverted murder of our young, and at the same time….allow our government to continue getting away with paying our school teachers a fraction of what they are worth. Why hell….its a win-win situation…for our corrupt, mismanaged powers that be. Not so great for us commoners tho’.
Do I approve of female teachers having sex with their male teen students? Of course not. Its obviously not appropriate behaviour. But by the same token I see it as extremely forgivable. But until we, the people (the general public) learn to step back and see things more clearly and objectively, we are just going to keep recycling the same old mental garbage, passing it back and forth between ourselves thus playing the role of Mr. and Miss Knucklehead to the wealthy and influental, allowing them to make total fools of us, having thier way with us and taking rediculous, immoral liberties where it serves their selfish interests.
Thats pretty much what all this boils down to…..in a nutshell.
I hope April does alright man I really do…..weather she did it or not…my prayers and thoughts are with her. She doesn’t deserve what she is going through.

Well hello again.
Thank you for your feed back. You have brought very good points to the table, April is innocent. You see… the dates and times this boy has given don’t match up with where she was. Denver had a blizzard on the 20th of December. I was her neighbor. I have account of where my friend was and so does her family. So the thought of her “maybe” doing something is not at all in my head. The awful reality IS that her life is ruined to a degree. She can no longer do what she loves…teaching. It’s unfair that just because she is an attractive woman that she is targeted. ( I doubt that if she had warts and wieghed 300 plus pounds she would be in this mess )The backround of this young “man” has several restraining orders agianst him from his original high school. He is no longer allowed in a public school because of his scary anticts. I also understand the apple does not fall far from the tree. To any degree…April and I are now finding these accusations and blog sites to be stepping stone for some long over due changes to our legal system regarding teenage boys ( or anyone else )who decide to make up stories to ruin someone elses life. Proof positive there will be grounds for punishment on false accusations. Why should she be the only one suffering (as well as her family) because of a mentally unstable “boy”. Future changes I believe are desperatly needed. There should be some indication on backround checks if someone has a history of crying wolf.

So tell me Friend….what if….somehow….you found out that she did have intimate contact with this young man like so many other female teachers amazingly And unexpectedly do….what then? Would you forgive her? Still be her friend? How would you feel about such a thing.
I’m not interested in hearing about the “impossibiltiy” of it all….I’m interested in your feelings on the matter if she indeed fell weak and made a mistake. Would you….like all the rest….judge her harshly?

To be her friend or not to be her friend, good question. I have thought about it and I have come to this conclusion,I would still be her friend and there wouldnt be reason for me to forgive her, that’s up to someone else. I would not judge her. I would stand by her side and support her. I am her friend, not someone who prentends to be and leaves when the shit hits the fan.
April and I spend alot of time together. If there is anything that she is hiding, it would have surfaced by now. All in all, I still claim April’s innoncents.
Not to mention …..she has tried to leave he reponse on this blog site, and of course, was blocked out.
It seems to me that only one side of the story is what Anne-Marie likes to stick with.

Yeah well I have thought about it, truth is April hasn’t been dealt with in a fair manner from the beggining.
For one thing, she’s attractive and she’s female, and she’s been accused of acting on sexual impulses. When your attractive and female, those kinds of accusations and possibilites for doing such spells lots of media hype and sensationalism…. and those kinds of stories sell. And thats the whole idea.
April is caught in the middle of a sensationalistic tug-of-war….Youv’e got the media on one side hoping like hell she’s guilty as charged so they can write more titilating stories about it, and the Frankenstien monster machinery of the judicial system on the other side that doesn’t really give a red-rats-ass it just wants to compulsivley consume more flesh. Wich is a pretty nasty process to watch, thereby generating its own media hype and hysteria.
Hey if you say she’s innocent of the charges against her thats good enough for me I’m willing to take your word for it. Friends like you are hard to come by. I’d definitely want you in my corner in a crises.
When viewed objectivley April’s situation is a little different than most cases like this. It would appear she got the nasty finger pointed at her by a little would-be stalker. That was his way of stalking her anyway. He sure as hell caused her alot of trouble, upset and disruption. I hope the hell the little prick is proud.

If she is truly innocent - and has documentation she’s allowed to provide - I’m very happy to publish it.
But for now, I’ll have to stand by my original story. After doing searches on her name, no new information has come to light.

To put any documention on a web site regarding a serious accusation is ,well, just plain stupid. I don’t understand when you say you are standind behind your original story. This story that was sensationalized was from the police to the media. With out that, you have no story. Frankly I would wait to the end of all this non-sense to write a story about it. Fact is always better than fiction. Meaning when it is released that she is in fact innocent, you will have a better story. There hasn’t been anything about her lately because prosecution is trying to find anything they can ( can not charge someone based on hearsay w/o evidence ).April will not stop fighting for her right of innocents. Since you are very concerned in clearing April’s name, why don’t you provide something besides your opinion of your friend? If documentation has been filed with the court it is available to the public. Get it, scan it and email it to me. Until I see some EVIDENCE to the contrary, I will have to stick to what the newspapers said.

OH Anne-Marie, Are you seriouslly upset that I will not nor can not give you any info. The police report DOES NOT match what the media has reported. Your so called reputable newspaper, give me a break. If YOU are so up to date with events, you would know she pleaded NOT-GUILTY in her prelimanary hearing yesterday. NOT-GUILTY after the DA tried to make her plea bargain down her charges. She refused ( unlike the other women ) and is going to full trial because she is innocent. I don’t give a rats ass if YOU THINK I’m doing more harm than good. Hot air and no action? Ok…you have no idea, and acknowledging that you believe everything you read just reiterates the fact that you wear blinders and have the ground hog effect. Like I said before, if you want to do a real story, wait until it is finished and then write about it. At least that way you will stop slandering good people’s names.

Also, I kind of find it disturbing that you would post a driving record with her info on it. April has children of her own and a family. You have two children right? You did talk alot about your family in your other websites. Almost all your family as a matter of fact. Anne-Marie, you crossed a serious line when you did that. You try to keep children safe in our states with your websites, but in this case you put a number of children in harms way. Don’t forget that anyone can retrieve personal info on anyone. You just made it real easy for someone to know more about April and her family. Shame on you.
Feel free to dig about her case…find all you want. Leave impertinent information out of your blog, once again, shame on you for crossing that line and becoming someone you write about.

FRIEND: you are NOT HELPING! You are allowing this scheming, conniving “person” manipulate you into feeding her information about a court case which hasn’t yet gone to trial. We both know that April is innocent so let her attorney prove it in court.
As for you, Anne Marie, I read several of the articles you have posted on your site and notice that the word “alleged” seems to be missing in several appropriate places, like in the catchy headlines you post to get attention.
Also, you provide a link to the Declaration of Independence. May I remind you that in declaring our rights as citizens of these United States, we were given the right to a fair trial. Although you give the perception of supporting this declaration, you contradict yourself with your biased and liberal posting of your opinion, whether or not a person has had their day in court.
Providing a link to any person’s driving record or providing any other personal information on someone who is accused and not convicted only serves to increase the harassment she and her family have already suffered. If you give her the benefit of the doubt as you say, then why try to make her situation any worse than it already is? (That is rhetorical although I’m sure you’ll feel compelled to respond.)
It’s been my experience that people like you who prey on the misery of others, do so because they have no control over their own miserable pathetic excuse for a life.
Because I love April and believe 100% that she is the victim in this circumstance, I will not participate any further in your on-line pissing match and therefore, unlike Friend, will provide you no further information or entertainment.

No…..Friend is helping by passionately defending someone he cares about. I think it is rather interesting that there is a large gap in time entries, between the 5th of Dec ‘07 and the Mar.13. Maybe there hasn’t been much happening with this case, or it has gone to trial, and no one has much to say about the outcome. Has this case gone to trial yet? I have looked at the facts in this case. How would this young man know about the mystery piercing, if it was not shown to him? Was he shown many other distinguishing scars on the perps. belly? Maybe from a stomach stapling to help her loose weight??
Such language from so-called educated human beings. I have not heard language like this, since I left the military. Learn to spell Dillon. You will appear more convincing.

Reading this interesting blog on this woman, so many more comments than the others.
I don’t think any of this is gossip. Sounds like Ms. April has a super support system. Has far has insulting people who care about her on this blog, it’s ridiculous. The last entry is rather disturbing. If you know the defendent, why would post something so private about her? Don’t you think this web site’s blog could be potentialy used in any way?
Piercing are very common these days. Almost every one has one and if they don’t they know someone.
Talking about a scar from surgery ( A mighty private surgery )is something any woman would not want discussed. Makes me think you are NOT THINKING yourself. I personally do not know April, however if I did, I certainly would not write such comments about her. I think you should refrain from blogging about her.

A support system can be deceived just like all of Aprils friends have been. For years this woman has lied to so many people. She has been deceiving them by making them think that she is such a good person, when she is a real witch. It did not surprise me when I found out she was arrested.
I am hoping that this blog is used against her. She needs to get what is coming to her. Yes, Jason I do not care what you think about what I wrote earlier. It was written to help with her conviction. I do not care for this woman, or any person who has done these types of acts on a child. They should be put away. So, yes I am hoping for a full conviction in this case. Don’t forget this is a blog (free speech). Everyone here has written there opinion, and looked at the facts. If you knew her, or has seen what she has done, how she has treated people, you would have a different opinion of her.

Innocent!! April, we love you and adore you. I have never, even been on this site because I knew how much people were trying to hurt you here…until today. I wish that all of these people could see how hard you tried to fight to maintain control when it was being forced away from you by people who can take power from just about anyone. It is very scary to think of how a messed up little boy can damage the life and reputation of a hard working wife and mother by just a few simple lies that snow ball. I wish they could have heard and watched you cry and watched as you held your children while they cried because of their tormentors at school…all because of lies from a disturbed boy and his family. I wish they could have watched your family give up everything they own and have worked for to fight for your reputation while this other family came up with story after story that never quite added up but the DA fed off of in order not to take responsibility for their mistake of taking this case to begin with. If any of these people could have watched your pain and know the true facts of your innocent story, I wish they could say they are sorry and know the harm they have done. Get your life back honey…. I know it seems impossible, but it’s not. Do the right things and fight for your integrity and you’ll come out on top every time. We love you more than life. God is good!!

Well, here we are one day after the case was dismissed and not one post from the Teacher Smackdown staff. I guess they think that if it isn’t published somewhere on-line, then it didn’t happen. They need to either report the outcome of the case, make the appropriate edits to the original post or take this down. The bad thing is that all those TV stations and newspapers will continue to have their articles about the posted for all eternity. If April tries to get a job somewhere and they Google her, all they will see is all the stories about her arrest, but none about the outcome of the case. This is going to affect April for the rest of her life. But the accuser? His name has not appeared once. He will probably get to live the rest of his life without anybody ever finding out about this on the internet.

CASE DISMISSED!
Because there cannot be evidence where a crime was not committed … unless we’re talking about the heinous crime committed against April and her family by this former student of Sodesky Academy. That’s right folks, HE’S still out there ready to accuse the next unsuspecting victim of his obsession! God willing, her name will be Anne-Marie Nichols!
There were no witnesses to this “incident” and an accusation like this can be made up anywhere at any time against anyone - even you - and then YOU’RE assumed guilty too!
I wish Anne-Marie was still here so I could tell her to keep entertaining the masses with a declaration of April innocence on this website (read above, this site is about ENTERTAINMENT, not TRUTH), but I think maybe she should begin one to examine the injustices and loss of civil rights of those people like April who are wrongly accused of a crime but assumed guilty. They continued to offer plea bargains to see which would run out first, April’s will to fight or her money to defend herself against this accusation. Luckily for April, her support system reaches far and wide.
Anne-Marie, I’m sure you’re still keeping track of this site whether you’re writing or not, so I hope you (and “Someone Who Knows”) choke on April’s innocence. This site has been a party to the public persecution of this entire family, nevermind that we already have a judicial system in place, nevermind that it’s not your place to judge, nevermind that a person is supposed to have rights in this country.
To April: I’m SO PROUD of you! Your strength and will to fight are incredible and I will forever admire that. Enjoy your freedom! Enjoy your family! Enjoy the rest of your life now that you can finally get past this!

CAUTION TO ALL: Your email address MAY very well BE PUBLISHED if you say something the writers don’t like, even though the form says (will not be published), which of course is followed by (required), which is intended to make you feel safe in giving your public opinion, or, if they’re lucky, you’ll blab some important detail about one of the accused or their pending legal case.
See Anne-Marie’s bulletin reply to my post above where she threw mine out there for the world. She actually thought someone would fax her some evidence in a pending legal case?!? It’s not only the privacy of the accused that’s in jeopardy on this site, it’s YOURS TOO!

If you want to convince us be specific….otherwise we are just all going to assume your either jealous or pissed of at her for emotional personal vandetta reasons. Someone who knows: name is LIZ MORRIS (returning the information sharing favor). From the thornton/Northglenn area. She is a psychotic seriously deranged individual in case you have not noticed. She pretended to be a friend of April’s all the while was posting things here and offered to make false character assainations in a trial. However, even the overzealous DA in this case saw that Liz was an unreliable witness. She is a liar and a vindictive person who has serious mental issues. As you can see by her attacking innocent children. Pay no attention because she is actually someone who has NO IDEA!

Sex assault case against Jeffco teacher’s aide closed

A criminal case against a teacher’s aid accused of kissing and fondling a teenage student has been dismissed.
Charges of sex assault of a child by a person in a position of trust, and enticement of a child, against April T. Robertson were dismissed in June, according to court records.
Robertson, 33, was accused of twice meeting a 15-year-old Sobesky Academy student at a Jefferson County mall in December of 2006 and driving to a nearby park and an apartment complex parking lot where they kissed and fondled.
Robertson, who was arrested in April of 2007 by Lakewood police, denied the allegations. Her lawyer in the case argued that the teenage student had written love poems to Robertson and he was obsessed with her.
The case is closed, court records state.
Robertson no longer works for the school district.

While it’s good that this news is being reported, I’m rather disappointed in the Post’s coverage. They were the only news organization to include April’s side of the story after she was arrested, so I expected the story to have more on the dismissal of the case, especially with it being more than three months late. They seem to focus more on the accusations, and very little on her defense, which was a lot more complex that what was described here.

And Certainly you would think that teacher smackdown, would at least have the decency to pull the blog, article, negative statements, lies and false accusations that have been made.
It seems like teachersmackdown would like yet another lawsuit against them for their neglegience and their role in bashing ones reputation, career,and person.

Oh ya…. and FYI the case was dismissed because the “victim” admitted that nothing ever happened, after 14 months of LIES, and the destruction of ones career. The media didnt even bother to mention the FACTS of the case. The FACTS are that the disturbed and obsessive psychopath that started this dibochole has had zero consequences to follow his trail of lies. Yep, thats right people, hide your daughters especially those that attend Green Mountain Highschool in Evergreen Colorado because this psycho is a student there, and quite likely is obsessing over your daughter, or hey, better yet, another “attractive educator” thats what he does. He has a history of this behavior, a future sex offender in the making! soon he will be on the streets stalking women, likely raping them. He is free. and free of any and all consequences. BEWARE teachers as well. This could be you!

I find very interesting that any of you people can be so blinded by this manipulative woman. I have to that yes, I fell for it as well. I will give you a example of this manipulation. I am a recent single white male. I am in my early 30’s. I met April in a bar one Saturday evening. We bought each other drinks, danced, and then we went to my place for a little sack time. This is why I know about the mystery piercing, and the surgery scare. I don’t need to go into details. For that is between us, however I did not know she was married, with children. I wanted to continue this relationship, but she would not give me any number to reach her. She is a great piece of ass. We saw each other further. She would come to my place, and we would do it. I was starting to think that she was seeing me for just one thing. I also wondered why she wouldn’t spend the night. She would give lame excuses like, “I have to be at church in the morning.” If I had known that she was married, I would not have had sex with her. Does her husband know, or is he as stupid as I was? After all, she left him at home with the kids, while we were getting busy.Does her children know? Does her family know how she really is. Am I the only one she has been screwing. Do any of you people know about this promiscuous woman. Some of you will say, “so what, or who cares”. After all it is her business. So she made the decision to prey on a 15 year old young man. Why would a attractive 30 something woman want a boy, when there are a lot of men out in this world that can satisfy her? She is twisted. I am glad she isn’t working with children. In fact, the social services should take her kids away from her. You need to get whats coming to you. How are you supporting your family lately. I hope your husband has a good job to pay for all those legal fees that you are incurring. Go on people, support her. She has just ruined the reputation of a school that helps children.
