Teacher Frank Laine Hall Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing 11 Students
In Utah, former first-grade Rosamond Elementary teacher Frank Laine Hall, 37, admitted he sexually abused 11 of his students. He was originally charged with 16 counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child for touching 10 girls and a boy at Rosamond Elementary.
Hall pleaded down to 10 counts of attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child - a first-degree felony with a penalty of three years to life. Hall also pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree felony sex abuse of a child. He can get up to 15 years in prison for that crime.
The victims were between six- and seven-years-old. They told authorities that Hall put his hand down their pants to touch their buttocks and one victim said he inserted his finger into their private parts. Hall admitted touching the children for his own sexual desires and taking indecent liberties with one student.
Hall remains free on $500,000 bail. Sentencing will take place on November 14 before Judge Royal Hansen. Hansen ordered Hall to complete a psycho-sexual evaluation, have no contact with children, and not leave Utah before his sentencing date.
Hall’s plea deal gives him the ability to avoid prison. However, the DA said the victims’ parents supported a plea deal because they didn’t want to further traumatize the children. Yet the parents hope Hall will go to prison for a long time.
Me too…for a long, long time.
