Substitute Teacher Timothy J. Meehan Arrested for Sending Porn Over Cell Phone and Sexual Contact with Teenager

Timothy_Meehan.jpgIn Honeoye Falls, New York, substitute teacher Timothy J. Meehan, 23, was arrested for multiple sex offenses involving underaged girls. The charges include disseminating indecent material to minors in the first degree, promoting sexual performance of a child, criminal sexual act in the third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child. What a busy guy!

Meehan was a substitute teacher in the Honeoye Falls Central School District for all of 17 days. Yet he had enough time to befriend two teenage girls and take advantage of them sexually. Nice…not.

He sent them sexual pictures to their cellphones, and askedthem to return the favor with naughty pictures of themselves. Uh oh! Meehan is also accused of sexual contact with a female less than 17 years old. The criminal acts all occured outside of school.

When allegations of an inappropriate relationship surfaced, the Honeoye Falls Lima School District took immediate action. He was terminated in May and arrested last week. Still some parents wonder why it took so long for Meehan to be arrested.

Meehan posted $2,500 bail. The case is now waiting action by a grand jury. Anyone with additional information about this investigation or other incidents involving minors and computer/cell-phone abuse is asked to contact the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office at (585) 243-7100.

The sheriff wants to caution parents and teens regarding the dangers of cell phone and computer use. What appeared to be a “virtual sex” was really a series of felony acts.

Kids, don’t sent them nekkid pictures over your phone or computer! After all your cell phone provider or ISP will bend over backwards to retrieve the porn for the police, even after you erase it from your equipment. Doh! Then you’ll be thrown in jail just like Timothy Meehan!
