Music Teacher Matthew Glaser Avoids Prison for Having Sexual Relationship with Student
In Hartford, Connecticut, Matthew Glasser agreed to plead guilty to having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old Northwest Catholic High School student. Taking a plea means that the former music teacher will avoid serving prison time.
Glasser was convicted on charges of tampering with a witness. (Must be why the victim refused to testify in the case). He is also convicted four counts of sexual assault in the fourth-degree. He gets a seven-year suspended sentence and five years of probation.
Best of all, Glasser must register with the state as a sex offender. This means he won’t be working in any capacity with kids again. Good.
Back in May 2005, Glasser resigned as band director at the private high school when school authorities learned that he was having sex with one of his students after the girl feared that she might be pregnant. The girl had known Glasser for years as he had been her elementary school teacher.
She told investigators that Glasser used to urge her sneak out at night so he could have sex with her. What a prince.
A month after his resignation, he was charged with sexually assaulting the girl. Although the girl was of the age of consent - and the sex was consensual - Connecticut state law makes it a crime for teachers to have sex with students.
I’m glad to read that this is a law in that state, but I think it should be a federal law. When you’re in a position of trust, you shouldn’t be messing with kids even if they are old enough to give consent to sex.

It’s really too bad that the internet allows for any idiot to be able to write an article. It’s obvious this is amature. Won’t return to this site again
