Howard County Board of Education to Fire Three Teachers Charged with Sexual Offenses Against Minors

eucation_teacher.jpgIn Maryland, the Howard County Board of Education fired Joseph Samuel Ellis, 26, a Glenelg High School teacher accused of sexually abusing two female students. The board is also in the process of terminating two other teachers charged with sexual offenses - River Hill High School science teacher Alan Beier and Marriotts Ridge High School special education teacher Kirsten Kinley.

Charges against Ellis, stem from complaints by two students. A 17-year-old girl told police that Ellis exposed himself and tried to force her to touch him when they were alone. She also said that Ellis emailed her nude photos of himself engaged in a sex act and sent sexually explicit text messages to her cell phone. A 16-year-old student said Ellis sent her sexual text messages and fondled her in a park.

River Hill High School science teacher Alan Beier, 52 sexually abused three students. Marriotts Ridge High School special education teacher Kirsten Kinley, 27, engaged in sexual acts with a 15-year-old boy. Goodness. Between Paradise Valley’s and Howard County’s school district, there’s a whole lot of teachers behaving badly.
