Teacher’s Aide Cora Maria Solorio Sentenced to Jail for Having Oral Sex with a 13-Year-Old Student

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Cora_Solorio.jpgIn the Paso Robles School District in California, Cora Marie Solorio, a teacher’s aide at Flamson Middle School, pleaded no contest to committing a lewd act on a child under age 14 and to two charges of having oral sex with a child under age 14. Solorio’s getting nine months in jail, five years of probation, and mandatory lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Think she’s getting off easy because she’s a young woman? I do.

A no-contest plea results in a conviction without the accused admitting guilt. Supposedly she has shown remorse and got depressed when she realized what she had done. Geez, I’d be depressed about getting caught doing the nasty with a 13-year-old, too. Especially if I was the mom of three-year-old twins, and a six-year-old boy.

Moore had been indicted on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse alleging he inappropriately touched a 17-year-old special education student on school property.

Teacher Randy Eddy Gets Paroled After Serving Six Months (Out of 10 Years) for Sexually Abusing Student

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Randy_Eddy.jpgFormer Parma, Idaho middle school teacher Randy Eddy, 37, was convicted on two counts of sexual battery involving a 15-year-old female student. After serving serving six months of his original 10-year prison sentence he was granted parole after taking part in a “boot camp” and sexual offender treatment program.

Based on Eddy’s performance in the program, the judge decided he was ready for parole even though prosecuting attorney thought Eddy had not expressed remorse to the victim. (In court proceedings up to his sentence hearing, Eddy continually denied the charges of sexual abuse of the victim. However, he finally acknowledged that he had sexual relations with the victim and that he had lied to members of the community.)

And now parents are outraged that no charges were filed against the soccer coach and ESL instructor for Immokalee Community School. Florida’s Department of Children and Families is investigating.

Teacher Betty Cox Put on Arkansas Child Abuse List for Bullying Students

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

angry_teacher.gifBerryville Elementary School teacher Betty Cox was put on the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry earlier this month for bullying students in her care. People are placed on the list if investigators find evidence of verbal or physical abuse.

The alleged abuse involved student Jerry Lou Schoe, 12. The boy’s father, Richard Schoe claims Cox berated his son’s intelligence, wouldn’t provide a book he needed for an assignment, and put him in a seat away from other students for six days in a row. Schoe claims his son considered committing suicide over these incidents, and they now homeschool their son.

The Schoes weren’t the only parents who had problems with Cox. Christi Armer said Cox constantly yelled at her 13-year-old son and once poked him in the chest. Another parent, Jo Butler, said her 13-year-old daughter was afraid to attend Cox’s class.

  • A student was tied up with seat belts by a driver.
  • One bus monitor punched and cursed at a student, then threatened to kill him.
