John Erickson
In Alta, California, John Erickson, a retired teacher who works as a teacher’s aide for an hour a day, was arrested on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a child. He worked at Alta Dutch Flat School and exposed himself to one child.

Placer County sheriffs released Erickson bail. Erickson no longer works at the school and parents were notified of the arrest.

Erickson also owns a Christmas tree farm located near the school.

In Santee, California, English teacher John C. Holler, 41, was arrested for having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student at West Hills High School where he worked for 15 years.

The relationship started in August and lasted until his arrest. Deputies searched Holler’s car and seized clothing and other items to search for DNA evidence. The sexual acts allegedly occurred in and around Santee after school and in Holler’s Ford Focus. None happened on campus.

In Livermore, California, police arrested gymnastics instructor, Carlos Amaro (a.k.a. Julian Amaro) on suspicion of molesting one of his underage male students.

Amaro, 25, is a national acrobatic gymnastics champion and the owner and head instructor at West Coast Acrobatics. He previously worked as an instructor for Gymfinity Gymnastics. Both studios are in Livermore.

He has been competing nationally since 1997. In 2005, he finished first in the National Team Trials, and earned him and his partner a spot on the U.S. national team.

Here we go again - a young, nice looking female teacher having an affair with a teenaged male student. What are these women thinking?

In La Mesa, California, Helix High School band director and music teacher Jessica Ashley Kahal, 22, was arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 17-year-old student. She was booked into Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee on two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

In Modesto, California, Lewis Wilhelm, 41 was arrested an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old female student. Wilhelm, who is the band director at Modesto High School, is facing one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child stemming from his involvement with the girl.

Wilhelm was booked into the county jail but later released on $25,000 bail.

In Napa, California, former third-grade teacher, Matthew Joseph Shelton, 25, was arrested on misdemeanor sexual abuse charges involving four of his students - specifically four misdemeanor counts of annoying/molesting a child and two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery.

He inappropriately touched two eight-year-old and two nine-year-old female students at Phillips Edison Elementary School. Each child was assaulted in the classroom. The girls reported the molestation to their parents, who notified the school. Shelton was immediately put on leave while police conducted an investigation.

Shelton has no previous criminal record.

In Santa Barbara, California, El Camino Elementary School teacher Martin Corral, 36, was arrested for committing a lewd act on a child. His victim was an 11-year-old boy.

The molestation did not take place at school, but at Corral’s home. Corral had befriended the boy’s family and had their consent to bring the boy home.

Corral taught academically at-risk students and was very popular. Parents and students are shocked and saddened by his arrest and know Corral as a dedicated teacher and an active member of the community.

Ventura Police believe there might be more victims out in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, and ask that you call detectives at 805-339-4465 if you have any information.

Coral has posted $50,000 bail.

Martin Corral, child abuse, lewd act on child, El Camino Elementary School

Last April, teacher John Hawthorne, 42, was charged with eight felony counts of lewd acts with a child. He was accused of molesting five female students in his Martin Luther King Jr. Academy class in Salinas, California. He was out on $800,000 bail when prosecutors said they found child pornography on his personal computer.

The police say that have identified other victims and more occurrences than they already knew about. 13 girls between the ages of 10 and 11 have come forward to say that Hawthorne molested them.

The prosecutor said he could not discuss the details of the new charges, which were the result of an ongoing investigation by the Salinas Police Department. But boy do they sound serious especially since the original victims’ testimony sounded a little hinkey - stuff about over-the-clothes touching appearing to be misinterpreted hugs.

This is a case we’ll have to keep a close eye on. Stay tuned.

In the Paso Robles School District in California, Cora Marie Solorio, a teacher’s aide at Flamson Middle School, pleaded no contest to committing a lewd act on a child under age 14 and to two charges of having oral sex with a child under age 14. Solorio’s getting nine months in jail, five years of probation, and mandatory lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Think she’s getting off easy because she’s a young woman? I do.

A no-contest plea results in a conviction without the accused admitting guilt. Supposedly she has shown remorse and got depressed when she realized what she had done. Geez, I’d be depressed about getting caught doing the nasty with a 13-year-old, too. Especially if I was the mom of three-year-old twins, and a six-year-old boy.

Louis William Conradt Jr.’s shot and killed himself when TV producers from NBC’s Predator show and police showed up at his door. Conradt Jr., 57, an assistant county prosecutor, had been engaging in a sexually explicit online chat with an adult posing as a 13-year-old boy.

Now his sister, Patricia Conradt, is suing NBC Universal Inc. for $105 million.

Roseville, CA Silverado Middle School teacher Kelly C. Spaich, 28, pleaded guilty to charges of having unlawful sex with and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Her sexual relationship with a sixteen-year-old male student continued over a period of seven months.

Spaich was sentenced to 400 hours of community service, four years probation, and four months in jail. Spaich can apply for alternative sentencing, such as electronic monitoring, to avoid serving jail time. But she can no longer work as a teacher.

On top of that, she will not be required to register as a sex offender - and her husband is pissed!

Daniel Ray Metroka, 51, an early-childhood teacher at the California School for the Deaf in Riverside, was arrested for four counts of lewd and lascivious acts with two girls under age 14. The crimes didn’t occur on campus or involve students at the school. Even so, Metroka is being held on $1-million bail.

Authorities are refusing to release information about the girls ages and call them Jane Doe No. 1 and Jane Doe No. 2. They have not said how Metroka knew the victims, or where the molestations took place. All they are saying is that they believe other children may have been molested, and that the girls’ parents reported the allegations to the police.

The school sent a letter to parents, teachers and staff to inform them of Metroka’s arrest and that he will not be permitted on campus pending the outcome of the charges.

Daniel Ray Metroka, California School for the Deaf in Riverside, lewd and lascivious acts

In Broadmoor, California police arrested a Capuchino High School music teacher Adam Glen Albrecht, 28, on allegations that he had numerous sexual encounters with a 17-year-old female student.

He was booked into jail on 35 felony charges of oral sex and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, and four misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police say all of the crimes happened at Albrecht’s residence, inside a vehicle and at two other homes between December 2006 and June 2007. Albrecht was arrested after someone reported him to police. The victim was a student in one of his classes.

Never have I seen police charge someone with so many felonies. There must be more to the story - like a diary proving all 35 sexual encounters. Stay tuned…

Adam Glen Albrecht , sexual abuse, 35 felonies, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Teacher Andrew Joseph Barnes, 26, an English teacher and track coach pleaded guilty to one felony count of using a minor for a prohibited act and two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure.

The charges involved three 17-year-old female students from South Hills High School in West Covina, California.

Barnes was sentenced two-year state prison term and ordered to register as a sex offender. The felony charge involved using a minor in a photograph, while the misdemeanor charges involved photos that were found on his computer.

What always surprises me is that these guys don’t think they’ll get caught. For goodness sake, there’s hard evidence - photographs - on your computer. Duh!
